About CelCo

CelCo Consulting was founded in Geneva in 2011 by Christian Chavassieu to provide independent expertise on the global specialty cellulose industry. From the beginning, CelCo has been the only consultancy dedicated exclusively to cellulose-based biomaterials, covering dissolving pulp and downstream markets such as viscose, acetate, and ethers/MCC.

Over time, CelCo has built a reputation for deep technical knowledge, trusted analysis, and close relationships across the value chain. Christian Chavassieu remains actively engaged as principal, ensuring continuity of vision and expertise.

Numera Analytics

In 2025, CelCo partnered with Numera Analytics, an economics consultancy specialized in the commodities and materials markets, lending its expertise in data management and analytics, to enhance the offering to CelCo clients.

Our mission is to bring clarity to a market that functions more like chemicals than paper, helping industry participants understand its dynamics, anticipate change, and prepare for the future.

In addition to research and advisory work, CelCo organizes the annual Investing in Cellulose conference in London, the only event outside China dedicated solely to the outlook for cellulose-based biomaterials.
